Know what to fix. Know why.

Our paid SEO audit services give you a prioritized view of the site's technical health, content, internal links, external authority and AI search visibility. Rob Garner leads the review. The deliverable connects evidence to recommended actions, so your team can decide what to change first, what requires further investigation and what can wait.

An audit is useful when traffic has changed without a clear explanation, a site redesign is approaching, or an existing search program needs direction. It can also establish a baseline before a new phase of work. The scope follows the questions your business needs answered.

What this work looks like

Technical SEO audit

The technical review follows how search engines reach, interpret and index the site. Crawl error analysis separates isolated problems from failures repeated across a template or section.

  • Crawlability, indexation, robots directives and canonical rules.
  • XML sitemap analysis: intended pages, response codes and consistency with canonical URLs.
  • Duplicate content and redirect audit: repeated pages, chains, loops and broken destinations.
  • Structured data accuracy and agreement with the visible page.

A URL that should be retired needs different treatment from an important page that has become inaccessible. The roadmap explains which action fits.

Page speed and mobile experience

Page speed and Core Web Vitals are reviewed in the context of the pages people actually visit. LCP describes loading, INP describes responsiveness and CLS describes visual stability. Available field data shows real visitor experience, while lab checks can help investigate a specific behavior. Mobile friendliness includes navigation, readable content, page layout and whether the important information remains available on a smaller screen. Recommendations identify the affected experience and the template or component involved.

On-page SEO and content analysis

The on-page SEO audit connects each priority page to the intent it should serve. Titles, descriptions, headings, URLs and body content are reviewed together. Content optimization analysis asks whether the page answers the buyer's question with enough substance, clear sourcing and an understandable next step.

Keyword rankings analysis establishes where the site appears now and which queries lead to which pages. Pages competing for the same intent, thin explanations, outdated material and missing topics enter the review. A recommendation can be to rewrite, consolidate, expand or leave a page alone.

Site architecture and internal linking

Site architecture analysis examines how the site's sections fit together and how visitors and crawlers reach important pages. The internal linking review covers navigation, template links and links within the content itself. It looks for broken links, orphaned content, unclear anchor text and useful pages buried without supporting connections. Findings distinguish changes to an individual page from changes to a shared navigation or template, so the implementation team can see the reach of each recommendation.

Off-page SEO and competitive context

The off-page SEO audit examines the backlink profile and other credible references to your business. A link audit considers referring sources, relevance, anchor patterns and how the profile developed. Suspicious links require context and manual review before any cleanup or disavow recommendation.

Competitor analysis uses the sites appearing for your priority queries. Their useful content, topic coverage and external references provide comparison points. This helps separate a technical restriction from a content or authority gap.

AI search visibility and source readiness

The AI search component considers Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO): how a business and its content appear in generated answers. The relevant environments include Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. A dated observation records the question, the answer environment and any cited source.

The review also examines whether your pages explain entities clearly, support important claims and make useful answers easy to locate. AI answers vary, and a citation seen in one check does not establish a stable ranking. The deliverable makes those measurement limits visible alongside the observations.

A prioritized roadmap your team can use

The audit ends with a roadmap organized around search opportunity, business value, implementation effort and dependencies. Each finding gives your implementation team:

  • What is affected, with representative URLs and supporting observations.
  • Why the issue matters and how confident the finding is.
  • What to change, what needs further investigation and what depends on other work.
  • How to check the change after implementation.

The walkthrough gives your team room to question the sequence and connect it to upcoming releases.

Evidence and access

Your own search and analytics data establish the starting point. Search-performance tools such as Google Search Console can show queries, landing pages and indexing reports. Analytics systems such as Google Analytics, including GA4, can add visitor behavior and conversion context where tracking is configured.

Other categories include a technical crawler such as Screaming Frog, a backlink index such as Ahrefs, and a keyword research platform such as Semrush. These are examples, with selection determined by the audit's needs. Missing access or unreliable tracking is recorded as a limit on the conclusions.

How an engagement runs

  1. 01

    Define the questions

Discovery establishes the business goals, priority pages, recent changes and decisions the audit needs to inform. Existing reports and planned releases provide context. Scope, timing and access requirements are agreed before the review begins.

  2. 02

    Collect and examine

Manual checks investigate the patterns behind crawl findings and search performance. A repeated template issue is traced across representative pages. A visibility change is considered alongside recent site changes and the available history.

  3. 03

    Prioritize and explain

Rob leads the audit review and roadmap walkthrough. Confirmed problems, content opportunities and questions needing more evidence are distinguished. Your team can discuss the recommended sequence and dependencies before planning the next phase.

  4. 04

    Choose the implementation path

Your team can implement the roadmap. Workhacker can also scope the next phase through technical SEO, content production, or an ongoing managed SEO program. Implementation and continued monitoring are agreed separately.

We agree on the scope and cost with you before work begins.

Common questions

06 Questions

What is included in a paid SEO audit?

Technical SEO, on-page content, site architecture, internal links, the backlink profile, competitive gaps and AI search visibility, within the agreed scope. You receive findings with supporting evidence, a prioritized roadmap and a walkthrough explaining what to do first and why.

How much does an SEO audit cost?

We agree on the scope and cost with you before work begins. This is a paid, Rob Garner-led engagement. Site size, technical complexity, available data and the questions you need answered affect the scope. The quote establishes the audit deliverable and timing. Any subsequent implementation or ongoing management is discussed as a separate scope.

How long does an audit take?

Timing is agreed after discovery. A focused review and a large site with multiple templates require different amounts of manual investigation. Access delays and missing historical data can affect the schedule. The scope sets when the findings and roadmap will be ready.

What does expert review add to a crawler report?

A crawler records observable conditions. Expert review connects those conditions to page purpose, search performance and business priorities. It determines whether a flag needs action, further investigation or no change, and how your team should sequence and verify the work.

When should we commission or repeat an SEO audit?

Useful triggers include an unexplained traffic change, an approaching redesign, a migration, a new direction for the business or uncertainty about the current search program. Repeat scope should follow what changed and which decisions remain unresolved. Ongoing monitoring can surface those triggers without requiring another full audit on an arbitrary schedule.

Can our team implement the audit recommendations?

Yes. The roadmap is intended to support implementation by your team, with affected pages, reasons and dependencies made clear. You can also discuss a separate Workhacker implementation scope or managed engagement. Completing the audit does not require continuing into an ongoing program; the next decision follows the findings and your team's capacity.
