Canada prescription-drug consumer advertising is restricted by C.01.044 to names, price and quantity. Canadian practices need applicable federal/provincial privacy controls, including appropriate consent for sensitive information. Include these checks in content and audio production. Population and calculation notes

Every starting point is listed below with its original unit, population and compatibility limits. Research checked 12 October 2026. Replace planning assumptions with your own figures where possible.

Your retained monthly revenue and marketing share set your total marketing budget. We subtract commitments you will keep elsewhere, then apply your chosen program share to what remains. If those commitments exceed the budget, we show the overspend separately and leave no monthly allocation. Comparable current spend is for comparison only.

Your acquisition allowance comes from payments collected within your recovery window, after direct delivery costs and according to the share you choose. Recurring and introductory/repeat models assume evenly spaced payments collected at the end of each period, with the first receipt at the end of the first period. They count only complete periods within both your relationship horizon and recovery window. A 1.5-month window at 12 payments per year counts one payment, not one and a half. Upfront or irregular collections need a separate cash-flow check; a one-off fee is counted once, only when you confirm collection in time. The remainder funds overhead and profit.

The per-enquiry limit reflects both the share of enquiries that attend a meeting and the share of those meetings that become customers. Ecommerce uses your new-customers-per-session rate instead; checkout completion remains context. To find the enquiries or sessions your goal would require, we work back through the matching conversion rate and round upward to a whole enquiry or session. Zero conversion cannot meet a positive goal.

Explore the clinics and health systems industry guide

Monthly retained revenue: $15,000.00 to $75,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD per month

Scenario: 100-500 active patients at an assumed $150 monthly retained service fee. Patient counts and fee mix are assumptions, not a typical-size survey. Exclude pharmacy sales not retained by clinic.

Total marketing share: 6% to 10%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of revenue

Editable planning band around broad marketing surveys; no representative specialty-clinic survey. Total marketing includes staff, agency, production and media.

First customer payment: $180.00 to $220.00

Published proxy · Source unit: USD initial service engagement

Hone Plus/Premium starting fees, from-price examples, not industry averages. Medication excluded; ongoing fees $135/$155. Use separate repeat fees for LTV; this is a hormone proxy, not peptide pricing.

Payments per year: 12

Planning assumption · Source unit: billing periods per active year

Monthly-billing scenario, not 12 clinical visits or a measured purchase frequency. Multiply by retained months/12; account for different initial and repeat fees.

Relationship horizon: 0.5 to 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

Conservative 6-12-month commercial planning horizon. No credible clinic-retention cohort found; chronic treatment indication is not proof of commercial retention.

Gross contribution margin: 40% to 60%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of service revenue

Planning range assumes direct clinician, lab and treatment costs consume 40-60% of service revenue. Include owner clinical labor at market cost; not an observed gross or net margin.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 40% to 60%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified enquiries · Stage: attended-meeting

Scenario assumes a meaningful share does not schedule or attend after price, access and eligibility discussion. No representative published attended-consultation rate found.

Industry considerations

  • Substantiate clinical claims in every promotional format, including podcasts.

  • Sensitive health targeting needs Google audience-policy review.

  • Check self-pay estimate duties and clearly explain excluded charges.

  • Review each peptide's current FDA status; withdrawn nominations are not approval.

  • LegitScript says advisory peptide votes do not authorize promotion or compounding.

  • Check self-pay estimate duties and clearly explain excluded charges.

  • Compounded GLP-1 promotion must avoid equivalence, generic and misleading compounder or FDA-approval claims.

  • FDA red flags include absent screening, clinician access or trustworthy pharmacy sourcing.

  • Check prescription-service Google/LegitScript eligibility; Meta text was blocked.

Monthly retained revenue: $40,000.00 to $200,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month

Illustrative collected-revenue band for one to several outpatient clinicians, not an observed US distribution. Canada: 2024 physician-office SME revenue middle two quartiles CAD212,000-622,000/year, or CAD17,667-51,833/month; mean CAD489,400/year. Includes generalists; no currency conversion or US extrapolation.

Total marketing share: 5.88%

Published input · Source unit: percent of revenue

Reported mean for healthcare respondents (n=17), Spring 2026, not a small specialty-practice survey or a required spend. Total marketing includes staff, media and agency/content costs. Canada physician offices report advertising/promotion 0.6% in 2024 [3], a narrower accounting line.

First customer payment: $250.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/attended visit

Illustrative initial collected visit revenue. One dermatology practice lists new-patient self-pay fees USD160-485 by complexity, including USD245 for 99203. Not an average across specialties, insurers or Canada. Use total collected payer plus patient receipts, not patient copay alone; procedures require their own preset.

Payments per year: 2

Planning assumption · Source unit: attended visits/customer/year

One initial visit plus one follow-up each year is a planning scenario, not published typical utilization. Use the same collected value basis for repeat visits, which may actually reimburse less.

Relationship horizon: 2

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

Short two-year revenue horizon for repeat outpatient care; no defensible cross-specialty US/Canada retention benchmark found. For a one-off procedure use frequency=1 and lifespan=1, with firstValue equal to the full episode value.

Gross contribution margin: 30% to 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of collected revenue

Illustrative gross contribution after clinical labour and treatment supplies, before fixed overhead, marketing and tax. No comparable cross-specialty delivery-cost series found. Canada reports 97.8% accounting gross margin but classifies much labour as indirect; do not use that percentage as acquisition headroom.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 45%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified enquiries booked · Stage: incompatible

Adjacent Invoca 2026 healthcare benchmark: 45% of qualified phone leads convert on-call to an appointment. Specialty clinics are not a separately reported segment; applying it to all enquiries is an assumption. Booked appointment is not attendance.

Meeting to customer: 70%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended consults becoming treatment customers · Stage: paying-customer

Illustrative progression from attended consultation to subsequent paid treatment. No suitable specialty-wide source found. If the first consultation is itself the paid customer event, omit this second stage or set 100%; do not multiply it against the same conversion event twice.

Organic enquiry share: 30%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified new enquiries

Illustrative attribution mix; no representative US/Canadian specialty-practice organic new-lead share found. Count unpaid search and Maps consistently, and keep referrals separate. This input must not be described as observed market share.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.9587

Planning assumption · Source unit: organic CPL / paid CPL ratio

Adjacent healthcare agency study reports organic USD348 versus paid USD363 per lead; 348/363=0.9587. Applying that broad, undisclosed-size sample to specialty patient enquiries is an assumption. SEO supplier fees: $1,500.00 to $5,000.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

Vendor guide reports this standard medical-practice SEO retainer range; specialized growth plans separately USD2,500-7,500. Publication date and pricing survey methodology are absent. Reported vendor estimate, not proof of actual bills or a Workhacker quote; media and setup can be additional.

Industry considerations

  • US HIPAA-covered practices: review PHI use in testimonials, case stories and marketing, obtain required authorization, and check exceptions rather than assuming all communications need authorization. Tracking review must reflect HHS's court notice: IP plus a visit to an unauthenticated health page alone is not automatically PHI under the vacated portion.

  • Ontario physician advertising includes third-party unpaid web content. Claims must be verifiable and evidence-supported; testimonials, comparisons and superiority claims are prohibited. Before/after imagery has specific consent, presentation and distribution limits. These Ontario rules are not a Canada-wide blanket ban.

  • Canada prescription-drug consumer advertising is restricted by C.01.044 to names, price and quantity. Check named-drug content separately from general service education; apply provincial privacy law and appropriate express consent for sensitive health information.

  • Google restricts prescription terms/services, experimental treatments and some specialty services. Health-related personalized audiences face separate restrictions. Check treatment, location, destination and certification before allocating paid media.

  • For health products featured by a clinic, FTC guidance requires truthful claims and suitable scientific substantiation. Reserve clinician review for scripts, articles, show notes and promotional snippets. This is an operational recommendation, not a sourced number of review hours.

Canada SME dental-office mean: CAD799,000/year (CAD66,583/month); upper-middle revenue quartile CAD397,000-1,161,000/year. Billings per dentist and revenue per business differ.

Total marketing share: 4%

Published input · Source unit: percent of revenue

ADA budgeting recommendation for an intermediate-stage practice, not observed average. Its new-practice recommendation is 3-6%, mature 2-3%. Canada reports advertising/promotion 1.4%, quality E, a narrower expenditure definition.

First customer payment: $250.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/attended first visit

Illustrative routine first visit assuming full collection. One New Jersey practice offers USD250 exam/X-rays/cleaning/scan, regular USD535. Promotional fee is not national average collections. Orthodontic, implant and cosmetic case values need separate inputs.

Payments per year: 2

Planning assumption · Source unit: attended visits/customer/year

Two preventive visits per year is a care scenario; CDA describes six-month exams for many patients but individualized intervals. Guidance is not observed purchases and does not mean all patients buy twice annually.

Relationship horizon: 3

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

A conservative three-year modeling horizon, not measured retention. No suitably defined national practice-relationship duration found. Do not infer years from the percentage of patients who return.

Gross contribution margin: 45% to 60%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of collected revenue

Scenario after direct clinician/provider compensation, supplies and lab costs, before fixed overhead. ADA cost guidance does not report this margin. Canada accounting gross margin is 91.6%, net profit 34.7%, with much labour indirect; neither may silently replace the calculator definition.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 53%

Published input · Source unit: percent of qualified phone leads booked · Stage: incompatible

Illustrative treatment acceptance. Planet DDS reports 58% case acceptance in 2025 Denticon data across more than 5,200 practices. Treatment plans are not new consults; applying that measure to this stage is not a sourced conversion benchmark. For paid first-visit acquisition omit a second close stage.

Organic enquiry share: 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified new enquiries

Neutral half-organic channel-mix scenario to replace with practice attribution. CallRail's 71% describes practices ranking SEO their top channel, not 71% of new patients or enquiries.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: organic CPL / paid CPL ratio

Conservative parity scenario until comparable fully loaded costs and qualified leads are available. No defensible matched dental organic/paid CPL series found. Organic traffic is not free when production and agency costs are counted.

SEO supplier fees: $800.00 to $2,000.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

Published Lifted Websites offers for local and multi-location dental SEO; custom work starts higher. US-dollar interpretation follows its Arizona/US offering; page uses dollar signs. Not observed client spending. Canada vendor lists CAD1,200 single-clinic and CAD2,000 growing-practice plans.

Industry considerations

  • US dental advertising: ADA ethics prohibits materially misleading promotions and restricts referral fees. Relevant state licensing and advertising law still applies; review specialist titles, fee claims and testimonial wording for the jurisdiction.

  • Ontario dental rules add restrictions on testimonials, superiority, incentives/free services and fee-splitting. Procedure advertising needs appropriate general-practitioner or specialist disclosure. Ontario restrictions are not uniform national Canadian rules.

  • HIPAA-covered US practices must review patient stories, marketing authorization and tracking disclosures. Canadian practices need applicable federal/provincial privacy controls, including appropriate consent for sensitive information. Include these checks in content and audio production.

  • Google health-personalization restrictions and healthcare advertising policies can affect condition- or procedure-specific campaigns. Review paid destinations separately from educational articles.

SEO supplier fees: $800.00 to $2,000.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

Lifted Websites published single-location and up-to-three-location offers; custom scope is higher. Dollar denomination inferred from Arizona/US offering, not explicit USD label. Prices are offers, not national actual spending. Canadian medspa-inclusive medical SEO offer starts CAD750/month.

Industry considerations

  • US medspa licensure, ownership and clinical supervision are state-specific. California's Medical Board treats medical procedures as medical practice requiring qualified personnel; verify scope and credentials before producing treatment claims or clinician titles.

  • Canada restricts consumer prescription-drug advertising. Health Canada specifically flags promotional Botox benefit claims, including some before/after imagery, procedure videos and testimonials. Ontario physician advertising also prohibits testimonials and has detailed imagery consent and placement conditions.

  • HIPAA applies to covered US entities and PHI disclosures; cookie consent alone is not marketing authorization. Apply relevant Canadian privacy requirements to sensitive health information. Review case stories, voice testimonials, pixels and episode promotion.

  • Health product claims require substantiation. Google treats health personalization separately from treatment/drug advertising eligibility. Build evidence review into scripts, articles, show notes, captions and ad destinations.

Canada 2024 annual SME means: chiro CAD301,900, therapist/audiologist group CAD268,400. No representative combined US/Canada clinic range exists; counts and professions differ.

Total marketing share: 3%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of revenue

Rounded scenario. Chiro survey mean advertising USD13,540 divided by mean collections USD450,425 = 3.01%, a ratio of means. Canada advertising ratios about 2.32% chiro and 1.79% therapist group, estimates quality E. No combined full-marketing-budget mean established.

First customer payment: $100.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/attended visit

Initial-visit scenario; US Physical Therapy reports FY2025 net revenue USD105.76 across all visits. An initial assessment can reimburse differently. Payer plus patient collections, not billed charges; do not load episode revenue here and then multiply by visits.

Payments per year: 12

Planning assumption · Source unit: attended visits/customer/year

One 12-visit episode within one year, not observed annual repeat frequency. Employer PT claims study median episode visits: 12 without copay versus 8 traditional, with wide variation. Chiro survey patient-visit average 34 per case is not 34 visits/year.

Relationship horizon: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

One-year modeling horizon to avoid assuming repeated annual rehab after discharge. Episode definitions and discharge gaps do not establish relationship years. Longer chiropractic continuity needs practice-level evidence.

Gross contribution margin: 15% to 30%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of collected revenue

Illustrative delivery-cost margin around USPH FY2025 PT segment GAAP gross margin 19.2%, not net or adjusted margin. Canada accounting gross margins: chiro 90.4%, therapist group 88.0%, with much labour indirect. A combined margin needs explicit inclusion of clinical labour and occupancy.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 45%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified enquiries booked · Stage: incompatible

Scenario anchored to broad healthcare phone-lead booking benchmark, not a combined PT/chiropractic observation. Phone lead, enquiry, booked assessment and attended assessment are different events. Replace with clinic data.

Source stage does not establish this attended-meeting denominator. Enter your actual matching stage; original research is retained below.

This source measures an incompatible stage or unit. Its value is context only and is not loaded as a numeric input.

Meeting to customer: 70%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended assessments proceeding to treatment · Stage: paying-customer

Illustrative 7-in-10 progression to subsequent treatment, not an observed benchmark. No suitable combined series found. If assessment is already the paid customer event, omit this stage or use 100% to avoid double-counting.

Organic enquiry share: 40%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified new enquiries

Illustrative mix with referrals, paid and other channels providing the remainder. No comparable combined primary lead-share dataset found. Organic search/Maps attribution is not website traffic share.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: organic CPL / paid CPL ratio

Parity scenario because no matched organic/paid PT/chiro CPL dataset found. LocaliQ PT paid-search CPL is USD32.79 and click-to-lead conversion 15.35%; these do not establish organic cost or assessment booking conversion.

SEO supplier fees: $1,500.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

TM Blast publishes this one-location chiropractic local SEO fee including website/Maps work and reporting. US denomination inferred from New York offering. Single vendor offer, not PT-wide mean or actual spending. Canada Create publishes chiropractic SEO from CAD1,500/month.

Industry considerations

  • US physical therapists need licensing in the jurisdiction served. California chiropractic rules prohibit deceptive advertising and unlicensed practice. These examples require jurisdiction-specific review, not a uniform combined-profession checklist.

  • Ontario PT advertising must be truthful and verifiable, with no guaranteed outcomes or unsupported superiority; genuine testimonials require suitable consent. Standard effective May 2025.

  • Ontario chiropractic S-016 includes podcasts. Claims must be accurate, supported and within scope. Practice-specific testimonials are limited to the member's website with written consent and conditions; do not move those endorsements into a podcast. Current standard replaces older Advertising S-016.

  • Review US PHI disclosure/authorization and applicable Canadian sensitive-information consent before stories, recordings or tracking. Google health-personalization restrictions also affect paid campaigns for symptoms and conditions.

Personal injury law

Monthly retained revenue: $25,000.00 to $250,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD per month

Planning chip from 5-25 resolved fee-producing cases monthly at an assumed $5,000-$10,000 collected fee. Annualized run rate, not a US typical-firm statistic; collections are uneven.

Total marketing share: 10% to 20%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of revenue

Growth scenario chosen above general legal guidance. PILMMA describes some injury firms exceeding 20-30%; neither publication establishes a representative PI spending distribution.

First customer payment: $5,000.00 to $20,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD collected fee per acquired matter

Sensitivity band for retained fees averaged across signed matters, including zero-fee cases. Historical 2017 Nolo average payout of $52,900 is successful-claim compensation, not firm revenue or expected fees.

Planning assumption · Source unit: engagements per client per model year

One acquired client buys one complete matter. This normalization prevents repeat-case revenue being invented.

Relationship horizon: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: model years

One complete matter is counted once, even if it takes multiple calendar years. Not observed client tenure; do not multiply a full case fee by case duration.

Meeting to customer: 20% to 40%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended consults · Stage: paying-customer

Signed engagement after liability/damages screening. The two assumed stages imply 8-24% overall; MyCase's pooled 18% is context, not this stage.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.41402714932126694

Published input · Source unit: ratio organic CPL to paid search CPL

Derived from SEO $183 / Google Search Ads $442 per lead. Vendor study of 49 PI firms; campaigns mainly 2022-2024 despite 2026 title. Not a guaranteed future CPL.

Industry considerations

  • Attorney review of claims, credentials, client examples and solicitation must follow applicable state rules. New York changed rules in June 2026.

  • Texas has conditional educational-media and website filing exemptions. Nonexempt ads generally require filing within 10 days after dissemination.

  • Florida covered ads require filing 20 days before use; websites have an exemption. July 2026 timely/late fees: $250/$750.

  • Contingency-fee promotional content needs expense-liability wording where required; Texas Rule 7.02(c) specifically addresses whether the client owes litigation or other expenses. Review settlement examples for unjustified expectations and privacy.

Criminal defense

Give clear jurisdiction-specific intake guidance without implying a guaranteed outcome. Payment model: one off. Supplier menus and evidence describe the cited populations, rather than a representative business average.

Planning assumption · Source unit: ratio organic CPL to paid CPL

Transferred pooled legal-services vendor ratio: organic $580 / paid $783. Criminal-defense data unavailable; pooled paid and organic channels are not exclusively search.

  • Review crime-specific pages, case narratives and audio for confidential facts, outcome promises and misleading professional claims. A general legal explainer should not imply a client relationship or a guaranteed acquittal.

Employment and immigration law

Planning assumption · Source unit: ratio organic CPL to paid CPL

Transferred pooled legal-services vendor ratio. No employment/immigration-specific comparison found; do not describe as their measured CPL.

Monthly retained revenue: $83,333.33 to $416,666.67

Meeting to customer: 22%

Published input · Source unit: percent of attended appointments · Stage: paying-customer

Vendor Q2 2026 homebuilder appointment-to-sale benchmark 22%. Sale follows an attended appointment, not just a booking. Supported online-sales programs, not every small builder; allow sales-cycle lag.

Organic enquiry share: 20%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of all new qualified leads

Scenario, not measured organic share. NAR says 51% found their purchased home online; this includes portals and other channels and cannot be converted into builder organic leads.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.656028

Planning assumption · Source unit: organic CPL / paid CPL

Assumed transfer of broad construction vendor ratio to builders/modular: $185 organic / $282 paid. No builder-only comparison.

SEO supplier fees: $2,500.00 to $5,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month agency fees

Planning range for project, plan and community content, anchored around a live $3,000 general SEO offer. No representative builder/modular agency-spend study found. Setup, listings, media and podcast costs separate.

Industry considerations

  • California example, not a nationwide rule: contractor advertisements must carry the state license number. Verify license status, permitted trades and each operating state's disclosure requirements before publishing.

  • Review and testimonial content must not fabricate experience or buy sentiment-conditioned reviews. Check endorsements and client permissions before producing written or voiced proof.

  • Housing sales advertising, including oral statements, must not indicate preferences or discrimination based on protected characteristics. Review neighborhood descriptions, imagery, audience selection and podcast scripts.

  • Google housing ads in the U.S. and Canada cannot target by age, gender, parental status, marital status or ZIP code. Check campaign and landing-page classification.

  • Modular/factory-built homes follow local building codes; HUD-code manufactured homes are a different category. Verify the construction classification before making code, finance, placement or cost claims.

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month gross commission revenue

Gross contribution margin: 15% to 30%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of gross commission revenue

Scenario after directly attributable agent payouts and referral fees, before overhead. No comparable small-brokerage gross-margin cohort found. If revenue is already net of agent payouts, do not deduct them twice.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 25%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of qualified new enquiries · Stage: attended-meeting

Scenario: 1 in 4 qualified new buyer/seller enquiries attends a consultation. No representative public brokerage cohort with this exact denominator found; internet listing clicks are not enquiries.

Meeting to customer: 30%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended consultations · Stage: paying-customer

Scenario: 3 of 10 consultations ultimately close a paid transaction side. A signed representation agreement alone is not a revenue-producing customer; include cancellation and financing fallout.

Organic enquiry share: 20%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of all new qualified leads

Scenario only. Home discovery online is not agent discovery or organic attribution; do not substitute NAR's 51% internet home-discovery figure.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.907258

Published input · Source unit: organic CPL / paid CPL

Vendor broad real-estate benchmark: organic $450 versus paid $496 per lead. Not a brokerage-only sample.

SEO supplier fees: $1,500.00 to $5,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month agency fees

Planning range for local SEO and original market content. Historical generic local agency average $1,819 and live general offer from $3,000 are context, not measured brokerage spending. IDX, media and production separate.

Industry considerations

  • Fair Housing advertising rules cover written and oral housing statements. Review listings, market guides, neighborhood descriptions, photos and podcast scripts for discriminatory preferences or exclusion.

  • Google housing advertising targeting restrictions apply to real-estate services as well as property listings in the U.S. and Canada.

  • For REALTORS, Article 12 requires a truthful advertising picture and clear firm identity. Website licensing disclosures and third-party content permissions require review. This is an association code, not every state's law.

  • Describe compensation as negotiable. NAR-participating buyers' agents generally require a written buyer agreement before touring, with objectively ascertainable compensation terms. Do not claim a legally required standard commission.

  • Review and testimonial content must not fabricate experience or buy sentiment-conditioned reviews. Check endorsements and client permissions before producing written or voiced proof.

Public SEO/AEO/GEO asking range from a vendor serving this field; not evidence of typical actual client spending.

Industry considerations

  • Match the firm's registration model: ordinary FINRA members use Rule 2210; capital acquisition brokers use CAB Rule 221. Balanced, substantiated claims need review.

  • Federal M&A broker exemption is conditional. Do not imply every business broker is SEC-registered or exempt; the old no-action letter was withdrawn.

  • For campaigns within Google's financial-services policy, validate local-law disclosures, fees and claimed affiliations; verification depends on target location.

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

Public SEO/AEO/GEO asking range from a vendor serving wealth managers; not a survey of advisory firms' actual expenditure.

Industry considerations

  • SEC Marketing Rule covers SEC-registered or required-to-register advisers. Substantiate claims, balance risks, check performance presentation and testimonial conditions, and keep advertisement records.

  • State-only advisers need their applicable state rules checked. FINRA Rule 2210 applies to member broker-dealer communications, including relevant dual-registered firms, not every standalone RIA.

  • Recorded promotional episodes and their clips need the applicable advertising review. Do not assume an edited podcast receives the SEC exclusion for extemporaneous live oral communications.

  • Google financial-services campaigns require visible business and fee disclosures and substantiated affiliations. Check location-specific verification before campaign planning.

Observed public asking-price span: BrightFire SEO bundle $290; Stratosphere marketing starts $799/$999. Bundled scopes differ; not an expenditure distribution.

Industry considerations

  • NAIC Model 880 restricts misleading coverage, premium and insurer claims, but a model is not binding law until adopted. Verify each state's enacted rules.

  • Missouri example: RSMo 375.936 prohibits deceptive insurance advertising and policy misrepresentation. Coverage comparisons and scripts need policy-specific fact review.

  • FINRA rules are relevant when securities or variable-product communications occur through a member firm; ordinary P&C agency content is not automatically subject to FINRA.

  • For products within Google's financial-services policy, review destination disclosures and target-location regulations rather than assuming one national campaign approval.

Monthly retained revenue: $100,000.00 to $500,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month

Selected planning chip for an established small or midsize provider, not a surveyed typical band. Assumes roughly 10 to 50 clients at an illustrative USD 10,000 monthly agreement. Replace with actual recognized revenue, including the relevant service mix.

Total marketing share: 1.8%

Published input · Source unit: percent of revenue

ConnectWise reports Service Leadership internal best-in-class marketing budget of 1.8% of revenue. Not the whole sales-and-marketing function, a population median, or a recommended growth target. Report also says 51% spend under USD 10,000 annually; revenue denominator not given.

First customer payment: $5,000.00 to $15,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/client/month

Midsize-buyer scenario: 50 to 100 billed users at approximately USD 100 to 150/user/month, rounded. Historical Kaseya rates supply context, not measured midsize agreement values. Its general-client average-contract MRR bins include USD 2,501 to 5,000. Exclude setup and hardware unless explicitly modeled.

Payments per year: 12

Planning assumption · Source unit: monthly service periods/year

Monthly recurring service convention, not purchase-frequency research. Use 12 only with firstValue per month.

Relationship horizon: 3

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

Conservative three-year planning horizon, not observed retention. Historical survey reports varied contract terms; an agreement term is not relationship lifespan. Model one year if renewals are unproven.

Gross contribution margin: 40% to 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of service revenue

Planning sensitivity band using fully burdened delivery labor, tools and direct subcontractor costs. No current freely accessible representative midsize-provider gross-margin range verified. Hardware resale and project work need separate margins.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries · Stage: attended-meeting

Scenario: half of genuine service enquiries attend a discovery meeting. Excludes spam, job seekers and vendor solicitations. No representative published attended-meeting rate found.

Meeting to customer: 25%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended consultations · Stage: paying-customer

Scenario: one new paying client per four attended qualified meetings. Not an MSP survey estimate; replace with CRM cohort results.

Organic enquiry share: 20%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries

Illustrative one-fifth attributed to organic search. Report rates referrals highly but does not publish organic enquiry share. Channel effectiveness or referral revenue share cannot establish this number.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.6967

Published input · Source unit: ratio: organic CPL / paid CPL

Derived 418/600 from IT & Managed Services USD CPL. Vendor portfolio study, January 2022 to August 2026, per-industry sample sizes not disclosed. Organic is a channel group, not search alone; no causal savings promise.

SEO supplier fees: $3,000.00 to $10,000.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

Vendor guidance: entry USD 3,000 to 5,000; growth USD 5,000 to 10,000; nationwide can exceed USD 10,000. This encodes entry through growth scope, not a closed upper market bound or an independent buyer-spend survey.

Repeat payment: $5,000.00 to $15,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/client/month

Equal-payment model convention for this billing schedule. Confirm your repeat payment has the same retained value. Midsize-buyer scenario: 50 to 100 billed users at approximately USD 100 to 150/user/month, rounded. Historical Kaseya rates supply context, not measured midsize agreement values. Its general-client average-contract MRR bins include USD 2,501 to 5,000. Exclude setup and hardware unless explicitly modeled.

Population and denominator: Midsize-buyer scenario: 50 to 100 billed users at approximately USD 100 to 150/user/month, rounded. Historical Kaseya rates supply context, not measured midsize agreement values. Its general-client average-contract MRR bins include USD 2,501 to 5,000. Exclude setup and hardware unless explicitly modeled.

Industry considerations

  • Substantiate objective service, security, performance and savings claims before publication. Evidence checks and client approval add work to case studies and podcast scripts.

  • Google restricts third-party consumer technical support ads but expressly allows technical support supplied exclusively to businesses. Review service pages and ad destinations for an accurate B2B scope; do not assume all MSP advertising is prohibited.

  • Use client-approved, redacted security examples and verify certification scope before publishing compliance claims. This is a prudent editorial assumption; additional obligations depend on client contracts and the regulated vertical.

Civil engineering and AEC firms

Explain technical decisions with engineer approval and confidential project boundaries. Payment model: one off. Supplier menus and evidence describe the cited populations, rather than a representative business average.

Monthly retained revenue: $155,568.00 to $777,838.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month of net service revenue

Selected 10 to 50 employee design-consultancy scenario: USD 186,681 median annual net revenue/employee multiplied by assumed headcount then divided by 12, rounded. Not a surveyed revenue distribution. Net revenue excludes pass-throughs; do not mix it with gross billings or construction-company turnover.

Total marketing share: 3% to 6%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of net service revenue

Editable planning band allowing marketing staff and content plus some external support. Zweig's public release gives a USD 400,000 median annual marketing budget but no matching revenue denominator; no percentage can responsibly be derived. Seller-doer pursuit time and sales costs may be separate.

First customer payment: $25,000.00 to $100,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/design consultancy engagement

Illustrative fee for a scoped commercial design engagement, not the construction project's capital value. Discipline, location, project stage and procurement route vary too much for a verified general average. Require the firm's own fee data before using this in CAC.

Payments per year: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: engagement/year

Single-engagement mode to avoid presuming repeat project awards. Recurring frameworks require a different model.

Relationship horizon: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

Single engagement only, not a measured customer relationship. With frequency one, this prevents inventing repeat-client lifetime revenue.

Gross contribution margin: 35% to 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of net service revenue

Sensitivity band after direct delivery labor and direct costs, before operating overhead. No comparable representative gross-margin range verified. Deltek utilization and overhead ratios are not gross margin.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries · Stage: attended-meeting

Scenario: half of genuine enquiries become attended scoping consultations. No published AEC enquiry-to-attendance cohort found.

Meeting to customer: 25%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended scoping consultations · Stage: paying-customer

Conservative scenario, not observed inbound close rate. Deltek reported 50% median proposal win rate in 2025; its 2026 commentary says win rates declined. Submitted, selected proposals are a later denominator than consultations; do not transplant the 50% rate.

Organic enquiry share: 15%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries

Scenario for a relationship and procurement-led practice with a supporting search presence. No credible civil-engineering organic new-enquiry share found; exclude recruitment traffic and measure CRM attribution.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.6028

Published input · Source unit: ratio: organic CPL / paid CPL

Derived 214/355 from Engineering USD CPL. Vendor study combines engineering disciplines; not civil-only or search-only. Data January 2022 to August 2026; per-industry sample sizes not disclosed.

SEO supplier fees: $5,000.00 to $12,000.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/month

Vendor's general B2B pricing block advertises USD 5,000 to 12,000/month; the engineering FAQ says USD 5,000 to 10,000/month. This preset preserves the broader displayed band and flags the inconsistency. Supplier price evidence, not typical buyer spending; confirm currency and scope before reliance.

Industry considerations

  • Substantiate objective service, security, performance and savings claims before publication. Evidence checks and client approval add work to case studies and podcast scripts.

  • Texas is a jurisdiction example: board rules address truthful engineering assertions, false or misleading solicitation, confidentiality and unlicensed practice. Check every state served and the accuracy of licensed-firm and professional credentials. Licensed technical review adds work; the Texas compilation is not a national rule.

  • NSPE's professional code requires accurate qualifications, truthful public statements, proper project credit and protection of client confidences. Get project and image permission and engineer review. NSPE is a professional society, not the licensing regulator.

Monthly retained revenue: $250,000.00 to $416,667.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month equivalent ARR

Selected USD 3 million to 5 million ARR cohort divided by 12, rounded. Cohort selection is an assumption, not the typical revenue range of all small and midsize SaaS firms. ARR equivalent is not necessarily recognized monthly revenue.

Total marketing share: 8%

Published input · Source unit: percent of ARR

2026 private B2B SaaS survey median marketing spend: 8% of ARR, also 8% for the selected USD 3 million to 5 million ARR cohort. Selling costs are separately reported. More than 1,000 responses; fieldwork completed March 2026.

First customer payment: $25,278.00

Published input · Source unit: USD/client/annual contract

Median ACV for private SaaS companies with USD 3 million to 5 million ARR. ACV is annualized contracted value, not necessarily first invoice or cash collected. Match annual-contract mode; do not multiply by 12.

Annualized contract, fee or commission value does not establish a first payment or collected cash. Enter your actual retained payment and match its billing frequency and collection window.

This source measures an incompatible stage or unit. Its value is context only and is not loaded as a numeric input.

Payments per year: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: annual contract periods/year

Annualized value convention aligned with ACV, not survey purchase frequency. Monthly mode must divide firstValue by 12 and use 12 periods.

Relationship horizon: 3

Planning assumption · Source unit: years

Conservative planning horizon, not measured logo retention. SaaS Capital reports gross revenue retention, which includes contraction and cannot be inverted into customer lifespan. Renewal, expansion and discounting should be handled separately.

Gross contribution margin: 60% to 85%

Published input · Source unit: percent of software revenue

2025 High Alpha survey software gross-margin interquartile range for USD 1 million to 5 million ARR firms; median 77%. Includes the selected cohort but is broader. Survey of 800+ companies, mostly US; Q2 2025 metrics. Implementation and AI inference costs can change realized margins.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 20.91%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries · Stage: incompatible

Proxy scenario: vendor SEO lead-to-MQL 41% multiplied by MQL-to-SQL 51%. SQL means sales-qualified stage, not a verified attended consultation. Vendor clients generally larger than this preset; treat as assumption and replace with attended-demo data.

Source stage does not establish this attended-meeting denominator. Enter your actual matching stage; original research is retained below.

Meeting to customer: 17.64%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended consultations · Stage: incompatible

Proxy scenario: vendor SEO SQL-to-opportunity 49% multiplied by opportunity-to-close 36%. This is an SQL-to-won proxy, not an observed demo-attendance close rate. Keep both funnel assumptions editable.

Organic enquiry share: 20%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries

Illustrative one-fifth of enquiries from organic search. No representative small/midsize SaaS new-enquiry share verified. Traffic share and lead-stage conversion rates are different measures.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 0.5849

Published input · Source unit: ratio: organic CPL / paid CPL

Derived 186/318 from B2B SaaS USD CPL. Vendor portfolio data January 2022 to August 2026. Organic includes channels beyond search and sample size is unstated. Compare on a consistent lead definition and full program costs.

SEO supplier fees: $3,000.00 to $10,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month

Chosen specialist B2B content/technical program scenario. No credible representative SaaS buyer-spend distribution found. Generic supplier surveys include cheaper small/local programs and do not establish this SaaS-specific range.

Industry considerations

  • Substantiate objective service, security, performance and savings claims before publication. Evidence checks and client approval add work to case studies and podcast scripts.

  • Google's subscription and trial advertising rules require clear payment model and full costs. Free-trial promotion needs duration and subsequent automatic-charge disclosures. Review ads, comparison pages and conversion destinations together.

  • Customer endorsements must reflect real experience and material connections must be disclosed. Obtain permission and review evidence for case-study performance claims and sponsored audio.

  • Commercial B2B email is subject to CAN-SPAM. Review outsourced distribution templates and opt-out handling as part of content operations.

Monthly retained revenue: $50,000.00 to $250,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month

Selected USD 0.6 million to 3 million annual planning band, not survey percentiles. Promethean's 2025 design and marketing category means were USD 1.77 million and USD 1.96 million annually. Their sample means do not define a typical firm distribution.

Total marketing share: 5%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of revenue

Chosen marketing-only share below Promethean's 7% combined sales-and-marketing average, which includes salaries/media. The split is not published here; 5% is an editable allocation assumption.

First customer payment: $3,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/client/month

Illustrative mixed-service monthly retainer. No defensible average combining web projects, design, marketing retainers and development verified. Project-only agencies must replace this with engagement value and one-off frequency.

Payments per year: 12

Planning assumption · Source unit: monthly retainer periods/year

Billing convention paired with monthly firstValue, not measured repeat purchases.

Relationship horizon: 2 to 5

Published input · Source unit: years

Modal self-reported average-client-lifespan band: 43% of surveyed agencies selected two to five years. Vendor survey of 494 professionals, February to April 2026. Not a survival curve or population mean; validate for project versus retainer clients.

Gross contribution margin: 45%

Published input · Source unit: percent of revenue

Historical arithmetic: 100% minus 55% COGS guidance in 2023 report page 16, drawing on 2022 outlook. A published industry guideline, not a 2026 observed average. Current net-profit statistics are not gross margin; overwrite with accounts.

Enquiry to attended meeting: 50%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries · Stage: attended-meeting

Scenario: half of genuine service enquiries attend discovery. No representative agency enquiry-to-attendance study verified.

Meeting to customer: 25%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of attended consultations · Stage: paying-customer

Scenario: one in four attended consultations becomes a paying client. No credible representative close-rate cohort verified.

Organic enquiry share: 15%

Planning assumption · Source unit: percent of new enquiries

Illustrative minority share. Vendor survey says 38% identify SEO/content as a top new-business source, which is respondent incidence, not 38% of leads. SEO and content are not necessarily the same attribution channel.

Organic versus paid enquiry cost: 1

Planning assumption · Source unit: ratio: organic CPL / paid CPL

Neutral cost-parity scenario. No credible marketing/web-agency-specific organic versus paid CPL comparison found. This is not evidence of actual parity and must not drive claimed savings.

SEO supplier fees: $1,000.00 to $5,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/month

External SEO-support scenario for an agency's own marketing, not white-label resale or what all agencies spend. Generic supplier survey's modal USD 500 to 1,000 quote is not agency-buyer expenditure; specialist scope can differ.

Repeat payment: $3,000.00

Planning assumption · Source unit: USD/client/month

Equal-payment model convention for this billing schedule. Confirm your repeat payment has the same retained value. Illustrative mixed-service monthly retainer. No defensible average combining web projects, design, marketing retainers and development verified. Project-only agencies must replace this with engagement value and one-off frequency.

Population and denominator: Illustrative mixed-service monthly retainer. No defensible average combining web projects, design, marketing retainers and development verified. Project-only agencies must replace this with engagement value and one-off frequency.

Industry considerations

  • Substantiate objective service, security, performance and savings claims before publication. Evidence checks and client approval add work to case studies and podcast scripts.

  • Agencies can be responsible for deceptive endorsements and undisclosed material connections. Verify testimonial permission, client outcomes and sponsorship disclosure in text and audio.

  • CAN-SPAM applies to commercial B2B email and can involve both the promoted business and service provider. Distribution operations need accurate message identification and functioning opt-out processes.

  • No general licensing-board content review applies to ordinary agency services in the sources reviewed. Client work in regulated sectors needs that sector's own review rules; this is a scope limitation, not a blanket legal exemption.
